I have a pretty big collection of American Girl dolls. I have all the historicals except for Nellie. I'm planning to put my Felicity on ebay, but I'm having second thoughts. But I really am starting to see the darkside of having so many dolls. The thing is that I'm really starting to get overwhelmed by having so many dolls to collect for! And I'm really starting to think that it would be a lot better just to have two or three dolls--maybe just the two or three dolls you really like. Today, I have started to consider selling some of my American Girl dolls, just to limit the collection, and as a way to get money to build on the collections of the few dolls I really like. Out of my collection, the only dolls I really ever pay attention to, and really like, are Kaya, Josefina and Molly. The other ones I have--Felicity, Kirsten, Addy, Samantha and Kit--I really don't pay much attention to. And the sad thing is is that for a very long time, I really loved Kirsten. But...I just don't really care about her anymore. BUT, I would feel really bad about selling such a majority of my collection, and am really worried that I would have major regrets if I did afterwards. And when I talked to my mom about my idea...she was VERY upset. Yes, I am in my 20's, and still live at home while I go to college. And my mom is very...attached to my collection. And she thinks I'm crazy for having even thought about doing such a thing. But...I would really like to have only a small collection of dolls, and a lot from their collections. I really, REALLY do envy those here who have only one, two, three or even four dolls. DON'T get anymore! ...But really-have you ever felt this way? And what would you do in my case?
